Having breakfast other than at home is not really a Dutch tradition, but luckily it happens a lot at De Bakkerswinkel (The Bakery). From a simple to an elaborate breakfast and everything in between.
Wake up and relax with the morning paper in a cosy living room atmosphere at De Bakkerswinkel. Get the day off to a good start with a cup of tea and a croissant with homemade jam or a large plate with slices of bread and (biological) bacon and eggs.
In Amsterdam City Centre, it’s mostly the tourists that start their day with a good breakfast on the Zeedijk, but the local residents also enjoy their first cup of coffee here before going to work. In Amsterdam South, the local residents are accustomed to having breakfast outside the home before going to the office, or to holding their first meeting of the day while having breakfast. That’s also the case in Amsterdam Westerpark in the morning, where you can see guests having a working breakfast with their laptop and a cup of coffee, or students meeting up to discuss a project.
It’s the same in Utrecht where delicious aromas reach you from the kitchen. We recommend you to take a seat downstairs to get the day off to a good start. Zoetermeer has over the years become a sort of ‘second living room’ for most of the local residents, and that of course includes breakfast. In our newest Bakkerswinkel in The Hague, an increasing number of locals have also found their way to us for a good start to the day.
A working breakfast for a large group, a festive breakfast for two persons or simply a quiet, relaxed start to the day? Enjoy breakfast at De Bakkerswinkel!
